Acclaimed Actor Darren Kent, Known for 'Game of Thrones' and More, Passes Away at 36

Actor Darren Kent, known for his appearances in popular shows such as “Game of Thrones,” “Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” and “EastEnders,” tragically passed away at the age of 36. The news of his untimely death was confirmed by his talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, who released a statement via Twitter on Tuesday.

In the heartfelt message, the agency expressed their sorrow, announcing, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished friend and client, Darren Kent, on Friday. He was surrounded by his parents and his closest friend during this time. Our hearts and thoughts are with his family as they navigate through this challenging period. May he rest in peace.” Born and raised in Essex, Kent attended Italia Conti and successfully completed his studies in 2007. His acting journey took off with his debut in the 2008 horror film “Mirrors.”

Among his notable roles, Kent made a memorable appearance in “Game of Thrones,” portraying a goatherd in Slavers Bay, and most recently played a reanimated corpse in the 2023 film “Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” His versatile portfolio also included performances in projects like “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Marshal’s Law,” “Bloody Cuts,” “The Frankenstein Chronicles,” “Blood Drive,” “Les Misérables,” “Green Fingers,” “EastEnders,” “Happy Hours,” “Love Without Walls,” and “Birds Sorrow.”

Kent’s talent was widely recognized, with a notable highlight being his victory as the Best Actor at the Van D’or Awards in 2012. He received this award for his portrayal of Danny, a young boy afflicted with a rare skin condition that confined him indoors in the film “Sunny Boy.” Remarkably, Kent’s portrayal of Danny resonated with his own life, as he battled with a skin disorder, along with osteoporosis and arthritis. Beyond his acting prowess, he demonstrated his creative abilities as an accomplished writer and director.
