Tennis legend Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, shared exciting news on social media as they welcomed their second child, a baby girl. Ohanian took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their joy and introduce their newborn daughter, Adira River Ohanian. He expressed gratitude for their happy and healthy family and praised Williams as the “Greatest mother of all time.” The post included heartwarming photos of Williams holding her new baby with Ohanian and their 5-year-old daughter, Olympia.

Ohanian also thanked the medical staff who took care of his wife and daughter during this special time. He shared a touching moment when Olympia met her baby sister for the first time. Last August, Williams announced in a Vogue essay her decision to retire from tennis and focus on expanding her family. She emphasized that she values building her family more than her tennis career. Williams also opened up about her health challenges after giving birth to Olympia in 2017. She shared her experience of fearing a pulmonary embolism after her C-section delivery and discussed the disparities in maternal health outcomes for Black women in the U.S.
Williams emphasized the importance of being heard and appropriately treated in medical settings to prevent preventable deaths. She highlighted the significant difference that listening to every Black woman’s experience could make in improving maternal health statistics.
